NOTICE - West Iredell Water Customers

Stage 1 - Voluntary Water Restrictions

 

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has designated Iredell County as an area of moderate drought, and the entire state is either designated as having abnormally dry, moderate drought, or severe drought intensity levels. 

 

Water users are encouraged to reduce their water use and improve water use efficiency.  Water supply conditions indicate a potential for shortage.

 

In Stage 1, all water users are asked to reduce their normal water use by at least 5%. Measures to achieve this goal include but not limited to:

  • Limit lawn and landscape irrigation
  • Limit car washing & clothes washing
  • Turn off the tap when brushing teeth, washing dishes, or other tasks that don’t require a continuous flow of water
  • Repair leaky faucets, toilets, and irrigation systems
  • Limit pressure washing of outside surfaces/equipment/etc
